Rev. Living Joshua was born in 26th July 1962, at Ikibiri in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. He gave his life to Jesus Christ on 14th November, 1973. He was baptized both in water and Holy Spirit in 1975 under Rev. Sunday Otobo (Rtd)
He attended State School Ikibiri in 1969 – 1974 and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1974. He did his Secondary Education at Bishop Dimeari Grammar School Yenagoa in 1976 to 1981, and had his WASC/GCE. He attended Rivers Bible College, Eleme, Port Harcourt in 1985 to 1987 and graduated with a Diploma in Bible and Theology. He proceeded to Nigerian Advanced School of Theology, Ewu in 1998 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Missions and Communications. He did his Master’s Degree at E.T.S. Jos in 2012 to 2014 and obtained a Master’s Degree in Missiology (Missions) in 2014. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Divinity) by Interdenominational Theological Institute, Gospel Friends Association (GOFA) Nigeria, in affiliation to Victory Bible Institute Christian Centre, Tulsa, Oklahoma in 18th September, 2021.
Rev. Living Joshua was appointed the Bayelsa Missionary Area Chairman, in 1996. He also served as Area Supervisor in 2001 – 2005.
He was elected as the first Bayelsa District Superintendent in 2006 and still serving as the District Superintendent. He was also elected as an Executive Committee Member (representing South-South Zone 2) on 26th November, 2010 at the General Council Meeting and still serving as EC Member.
He is an Advisory Council Member of PFN Bayelsa State Chapter. He was the Zonal Co-Ordinator of Decade of Pentecost, Evangel Corporate Ministries and Evangel University. He is the current Chairman of National Scholarship Board, AGN. He was appointed by the Bayelsa State Governor in 2021 as a member of the Bayelsa State Ecumenical Management Board Yenagoa.
He has held several positions both in the Church and secular. He was a Sunday School Superintendent/Teacher, Church Board Secretary, Youth Leader, Men’s President, Prayer Band/Evangelism Coordinator, Worship Leader, Missions Representative, Sectional Leader, etc.
He worked with Swiss General Contractors Ltd. Benue State (1981) Makurdi. He served as presiding Officer in the General Elections in 1982 in Makurdi, and taught in High Level Commercial Institute Makurdi in (1983 – 1984). He was appointed as a Student English Teacher in Rivers Bible College Eleme, Port Harcourt (1985 – 1987). He was also appointed the Evangelism Director and Chairman of the Graduating Class in 1987. He was adopted as a Full Time Missionary in 1987 by the then Rivers District Presbytery under the late Rev. J.J.G. Nedom – former Rivers District Superintendent. He was appointed the Board of Governors Chairman of Pentecostal Theological Seminary Eleme, Port Harcourt in 2008 – 2010.
Rev. Living Joshua is a tested God-fearing Leader, pragmatic, resourceful and visionary leader, anointed with the Holy Spirit for the salvation, healing and deliverance of mankind. He is married to Rev. (Mrs.) Lucy Joshua and blessed with three children and other relations.
